It manifests through a variety of symptoms, such as hallucinations, delusions, disorganized thinking and speech, and unusual motor behavior. Individuals with schizophrenia may appear disconnected from reality, causing considerable distress for themselves and those around them.

Bipolar Disorders
Previously known as manic-depressive illness, bipolar disorder is a mental health condition marked by extreme mood swings, including emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). These mood changes can influence a person’s energy, activity levels, judgment, behavior, and daily functioning. Types of bipolar disorder include:
- Bipolar I Disorder: It is characterized by episodes of mania and often major depression. Manic episodes are intense and can last at least a week, sometimes necessitating hospitalization.
- Bipolar II Disorder: Involves depressive episodes and hypomanic episodes, which are less severe than full mania. Hypomanic episodes generally don’t cause significant impairment and may feel like a “high.”
- Cyclothymic Disorder (Cyclothymia):It is a milder form of bipolar disorder with periods of hypomanic and depressive symptoms that are less severe but still affect daily life.
Conduct Disorders
Conduct Disorder (CD) is a behavioral and emotional disorder identified in childhood or adolescence, characterized by a consistent pattern of behavior that infringes on the rights of others or social norms.
This disorder is among the most severe childhood psychiatric conditions and can have long-lasting consequences if untreated. Those with conduct disorder often show a variety of disruptive and antisocial behaviors in various settings, such as home, school, and community, including aggression, destructiveness, deceitfulness, and rule-breaking.
Major Depressive Disorder
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), commonly known as depression, is a mental health condition marked by ongoing feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest or pleasure in activities. It is more than just feeling down or experiencing a rough period; it is a significant medical condition that affects a person’s emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and can impede daily functioning.
PTSD (Post-traumatic Stress Disorder)
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after someone experiences or witnesses a traumatic event. Events that can lead to PTSD include natural disasters, serious accidents, physical or sexual assault, combat, terrorism, or other life-threatening situations.
OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by the presence of distressing, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) that are time-consuming and interfere with daily life. People with OCD perform these compulsions to alleviate the anxiety caused by their obsessions or to prevent a feared event or situation.
Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder
Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) is a mood disorder first identified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5). Emerging in childhood or adolescence, it is characterized by severe, frequent temper outbursts that are disproportionate to the situation or trigger.
